ABOUT OLWEN
My interest in and passion for the Alexander Technique began in 1999. I trained with Maggie Rakusen, Mark Tolson and team at the North East Training Centre for Alexander Technique, NETCAT in Leeds (1999 - 2002). I was awarded my Member of The Society of Teachers of The Alexander Technique, MSTAT accreditation upon completion. As a member of STAT, I follow it's Code of Professional Conduct and hold professional indemnity insurance. www.stat.org.uk
I continued post-graduate learning with Peter Bloch in Manchester for a further 2 years.
Since 2002 I have been teaching individuals, families, groups. I am a visiting teacher at the Manchester Alexander Technique Training School, MATTS.
I teach clients wanting to improve: poise, posture, performance, personal development, self confidence: clients with cerebral palsy, parkinsons, depression, back and joint pain, with great success.
I have been developing, improving, honing my style of teaching for years. I seek to give clients one small practical thing they can change now, in order to improve.
I have lived in the Halifax/ Ripponden area for 16 years.
I also train trainee solicitors in business and finance. Previously, I worked as a Solicitor, and, an IFA. I hold a Bachelor of Languages and Law Degree, the Solicitors Finals, Financial Planning Certificate, various Teaching & other qualifications as well as being a member of the Law Society and regulated by The Solicitors Regulation Authority
